Every Saturday night, my parents told us miracle stories about the Baal Shem Tov, each one more enchanting than the next. It became a lifelong dream of mine to make the journey to the Baal Shem Tov's resting place in Medzhibuzh. For over ten years I planned trip after trip, and each one was mysteriously canceled, as if HaShem was gently telling me, “not yet.” Then last year, for my birthday, despite every obstacle along the way, I finally made it to the Baal Shem Tov and it changed me forever. The serenity I felt there was beyond this world. It was SO mesmerizing that I went two times this past year!

The flowers of Medzhibuzh are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen. I believe it is because the Baal Shem Tov's holiness seeped into the very soil and whatever sprouts from that land is blessed.

One of the many highlights was visiting the Baal Shem Tov’s miraculous wellspring, whose waters have healed countless illnesses over the generations. I drew the actual water straight from the well and used it to paint this entire collection.
